During the Jewish New Year, it’s traditional to serve challah that is round (not braided) to symbolize the continuity of a new year starting again; it also looks like a crown, for crowning God as king on Rosh Hashanah
Our kitchen may be closed, but that is not stopping us from getting your round challahs for the High Holy Days to you. Thanks to Brian and Sally Shapiro and the fine bakers at Shapiro’s Delicatessen and Bakery, we are able to offer you these 2-pound beautiful, freshly baked round challahs in 4 different varieties: Plain, Poppyseed, Raisin and Chocolate Chip.
And when you order these delicious loaves, you will not only be breaking delicious bread, but you will also be supporting our ECC. You may want to order additional loaves to stick in your freezer. They store beautifully for up to 6 months. Please spread the word to your friends and family, please! Loaves = Love & Learning!
ECC staff have arranged two pick up times for each Holy Day and will provide “contact-limited” drive-up service at IHC.
Sorry, but ordering is closed for this year’s ECC fundraiser. Please call the ECC to check if they ordered any extra challah.
