Announcement from Rabbi Roxanne Shapiro, Director of Lifelong Learning

We are delighted to announce the hire of Jodi Kaseff as our new Director of the Early Childhood Center (DECC) at IHC.  Jodi comes to us as an educated and experienced professional, a congregant, and as a parent of a graduate of our ECC program.  She is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Special Education in the Clark-Pleasant Community Schools.  Since 2018, she has been overseeing the district’s preschool and elementary programming in this area.  She previously served, in Maryland, as a Compliance Specialist and as an Occupational Therapist in the public school system. Jodi has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (The Ohio State University), a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (Medical College of Virginia), and a Master of Science in Educational Studies with certificates in School Administration and Supervision and Education of Studies with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Johns Hopkins University).  Along with her substantial resume, Jodi impressed the search committee and the teachers with her leadership style, passion, and vision.

Jodi Kaseff will join our team in early May and is ready to jump in and work with our teachers, students, and parents to further strengthen and grow our program.  Her warmth, dedication, and tremendous skill will infuse our school and congregational community.

We are grateful to our DECC search committee, including Kathleen Grande, Shelley Kahn, Eloise Paul, Judy Sosin, Sarah Strawbridge, and chaired by Sara Cox, for their thoughtful and insightful work. Many thanks also for the valuable input from Cantor Aviva Marer, Rabbi Brett Krichiver, and Pete Smithhisler.

Please give Jodi our usual warm welcome to the IHC Family.

Congratulations Jodi. You deserve this and IHC is very fortunate to have you. I fondly remember our days in PG County and JHU. I wish you all the best.
