Sisters in the Sukkah

Join Us
Tuesday, October 3 from 6:30-9:00pm

On one our favorite nights of the year, we gather inside the Sukkah (weather permitting) for cocktails and Sukkot rituals. We’ll move inside for a delicious vegetarian fall dinner and program “Celebrating the Fruits of Our Ancestors”.

In the spirit of ushpizin or welcoming guests, please invite your women friends, even those who are not IHC members, to join us for this fun evening.

All attendees are encouraged to bring a family or favorite recipe using fruit to share with the group. We’ll compile all of these into a recipe ebook and share it after the event.

IHC Women: $18
Guests: $25

As with all Sisterhood programs, if you would like to join us, but have financial constrants, please contact our president, Ruth Anderson and we’ll assist so you can attend.

Sorry, Registration Has Ended.

As with every Sisterhood event, we rely on our amazing volunteers to make the event happen. Volunteering is one of the best ways to get to know one another. Can you help us with setting up the space, food and beverage prep, welcoming, serving drinks and clean-up?

Our Sukkot Tikkun Olam Project

Sisterhood prides ourselves in our projects to support our community. We are partnering again with Grassroot Projects to collect laundry detergent and NEW children’s underwear (sizes 4T through youth sizes 14/16 – girls and boys).

There are three ways to support our collection:

  1. Bring your laundry detergent and/or underwear to the event.
  2.  Make a financial contribution on the registration form. Even if you can’t attend you can contribute on the registration form. We’ll also gladly accept a check (payable to IHC Sisterhood) or cash the night of the event.
  3. If you are unable to attend, our gift shop director, Bonnie Foster has graciously offered to allow the Sisterhood Gift Shop as our drop off location during regular Gift Shop hours: Tuesday – Friday 10am-2pm, Fridays before Shabbat Service 5:15pm-6:15pm, and Sundays during the Jewish Learning Program 9:00am – 12:00pm.

If these options don’t work for you, please contact Lisa Freeman to arrange delivery or pick up of your donations. Lisa’s mobile is 317-446-7867 or email lisafreeman825@gmail.com

Grassroot Projects is a nonprofit organization working with immigrant and under resourced families in Indianapolis and Seattle. Grassroot Projects has worked tirelessly on the frontlines during 2023 to provide over 1,500 children with diapers, wipes, formula, hygienic products, clothing and food gift cards to help mitigate this burden.  IHC Sisterhood has partnered with Grassroot Projects during Sukkot for the last two three years with a pasta, blanket and winter hats and gloves collections, as well as monetary donations.
