What Are We Celebrating?

If you remember back to 2020, we were all set to celebrate our 10 year partnership with Rabbi Krichiver and then the pandemic hit. The last couple of  years have been a tough time for us as individuals and a congregation. IHC’s clergy and staff quickly adapted to provide our congregation with the emotional and spiritual support and because of our members, we actually have become a stronger congregation. On November 4 & 5, we are proud to reschedule our celebration of Rabbi Krichiver (now a 12+ year partnership) and, we have another reason to celebrate! The dates of our celebration weekend mark the 166 years since IHC’s founding … and celebrate we will!

Is the Celebration Weekend Also a FUNdraiser?

Celebrating our partnership with Rabbi Krichiver and IHC’s birthday gives us a special opportunity to raise the essential funds to ensure that we can continue to do all that we do at IHC.

You already know that IHC is a welcoming congregation, regardless of how much our members are able to contribute as an annual commitment. Because of this, each and every year, we rely on at least two fundraisers to help us bridge the gap between our income and expenses. One is our annual High Holy Day Appeal and the other is usually some kind of special event. This weekend is just that!

Please plan to join us for this festive weekend November 4 and 5.

Celebration Shabbat: Friday, November 4 at 6:15pm at IHC

Join us for a celebration of Shabbat, our partnership with Rabbi Krichiver and the 166 years since IHC’s founding. Our  Shabbat service will include beautiful music, reflections on the first 12 years of partnership with Rabbi Krichiver, special guests and more. A tribute booklet will be distributed to all who attend. Please plan to honor our rabbi and IHC by placing your ad by October 3 .

Stay after the service for  a special Oneg Shabbat with some of Rabbi Krichiver’s favorite foods and IHC favorites (do you remember Harvey’s punch?), hosted by IHC Sisterhood and Brotherhood.

Stand Up for IHC: Saturday, November 5 at 6:00pm at GUCI

It is time to have some giggles and gaffaws during this gala event featuring renowned comedian Joel Chasnoff. The evening will begin with sips, snacks and schmoozing, followed by a delicious fall harvest inspired dinner and wine, a dessert auction, special fundraising elements led by our very own Rabbi Krichiver and Joel Chasnoff and then Joel’s stand up comedy show.

Seating is limited, so gather your friends and join the fun.

IHCbay is back by popular demand!

Supporting IHC can be so much fun by becoming a bidder in our online auction. Watch for details on how to participate, but first, we are in need of items, gift cards, and experiences to make IHCbay complete.

If you have anything you can donate or have a connection we can ask for a donation, please let us know by filling out this quick form or contact Marc Katz. Auction items are due by September 20th.

IHCbay will be live from October 26-November 5, so plan to bid, bid and bid some more. You do not have to be an IHC member to enjoy IHCbay, so help us spread the word. Watch for the link to register for the online auction.

Honor Our Rabbi (and IHC)

We are so lucky to have Rabbi Krichiver as our senior rabbi and he wanted to make sure that we are celebrating our partnership, not just him. Show your appreciation of Rabbi Krichiver and IHC’s 166 years by placing an ad  in our Tribute Booklet which helps us raise money for all of the things we want to do at IHC and in our community.

All ads are due by October 3.
