Tackling Food Insecurity

The themes of the High Holy Days remind us in both easy and challenging ways of our bounty and privilege and our obligation to repair the world not only by sharing our own resources but also by creating a more equitable and just society. The Tzedek Committee invites the IHC family to enter 5784 with a commitment to reduce the food insecurity experienced by 25% of Indianapolis residents.

Here is how you can help:

  1. Participate in our Sukkot Food Drive to support Second Helpings. You can drop donations starting Friday, September 29 (Erev Sukkot) through Friday, October 6 (Simchat Torah). Please only donate the items listed above. (no glass containers):
  2. Donate to the IHC General Hunger Fund by clicking here. Several hunger-related organizations throughout Central Indiana receive donations from this Fund. You can make a donation when you register online for High Holy Day services or by mailing a check made payable to Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation with the memo line IHC Hunger Fund.

We thank you in advance for helping IHC reduce food insecurity in Indianapolis.
